Long before the Kardashian-Jenner reigned over the Hollywood reality industry, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s A Simple Life was the talk of the town. This pioneering reality show revolved around Paris and Nicole’s experience navigating the, well, simple life away from the comforts of Hollywood luxury. As you may already know, Nicole is the daughter of famous singer Lionel Richie.

In 2004, she pursued a career in music by joining the rock band Darling. A year after, Richie wrote a semi-autobiographical novel entitled The Truth About Diamonds and Priceless in 2010. Richie also had a knack for fashion; she launched her own jewelry in 2008, eventually worn by Madonna and Ashlee Simpson. Two years later, she also launched her clothing line, Winter Kate, which also gained traction in fashion. Today, this on-the-go mom is still busy building her empire and managing her investments. However, she prefers to do it privately.
